Customers are reminded to
patch their third party software products. There
have been recent updates to the Opera and
Firefox browsers, for instance. We are also
reminding customers that privacy issues are
taking center stage on the Internet in this
country with a number of large Internet
companies such as Facebook and Google taking
rather aggressive stands on using an
individual’s personal information along with
company private information. We plan to follow
with a paper on our assessment of the privacy
landscape and how it affects businesses and
individuals worldwide.
Patch Tuesday - 14 May 2010
Microsoft released only a handful of patches
this past Tuesday. The first patch was a
vulnerability affecting Windows Mail, Windows
Live Mail, and Outlook Express. The second patch
dealt with vulnerabilities affecting Office XP,
2003 and 2007. Both are rated critical.
Another thing that comes up in discussions
with clients and user groups that we particiapte
in is that Microsoft has now added an unofficial
patch day in which they are posting important
patches to various products. While Patch Tuesday
is the second Tuesday of each month, we are
finding that the fourth Tuesday has also become
a patch day. Patches offered in the second patch
day includes Windows 7 and many business class
products.
Check Microsoft Update for these patches.

temporary server and within the next week or two
will move it again to it's permmanent server.
That will take care of the hardware side.
Then we will begin the process of adding
content, and probably a redesign of the site.
This will take place over time, but again, we
want this to be the forefront of our business.
